Ribli Zoltan, Kallai Gabor. Winning with the Queen's Indian
B.T.Batsford Ltd, 1987. — 179 p. — ISBN: 0020298013.
We derived great pleasure from writing this book. As frequent practitioners of the defence under discussion we were surprised and delighted to discover new sources of beauty and hidden secrets.
In conformity with the rest of the 'Winning with... ' series we analysed complete games and tried to illuminate the underlying principles of the
opening. In addition we explain how these influence the course of the whole game. We chose games with independent aesthetic wort h in order to bring joy to readers who 'only' want to enjoy chess. At the same time, we have analysed every important variation and have cited among the selected games several which are entirely new to chess literature.
We hope that you will enjoy both the games and the analysis. A thorough study of this work will endow the serious player with great confidence in his understanding of the Queen's Indian Defence.
