Take one expert on British Army uniforms (William Carman) - add a large dash of watercolour prints from a Victorian artist who specialised in painting them (Richard Simkins) - and this is what you get. An absolutely superb slice of military history that can't be bettered! You also get a lot of happy bunnies in the military model and toy soldier brigades - as without such pictures and expert text - frankly - you are just guessing when you come to paint your model soldiers. If you are serious about how accurately you portray British model soldiers from the past few hundred years - you simply have to get hold of a copy of this book for the Cavalry regiments - and the sister volume for the Infantry.
